Governor Brown's Executive Order 20-04, the Oregon Climate Action Plan (OCAP), was put in place in March 2020. This historic executive order works to cut Oregon's greenhouse gas emissions by 80% below 1995 levels by 2050. As our state legislators work on economic recovery plans from the current COVID-19 crisis, we call on them to keep these goals at the forefront of their decision making.

We also acknowledge the importance of racial justice, today and always. Environmental justice for frontline communities is also racial justice. We are calling on our legislators to recognize that environmental justice is racial justice, and by keeping OCAP a top priority works toward the end goal of racial justice as well.

We need your help! Call upon your state legislators TODAY urging them to keep OCAP at the forefront of their minds when working on COVID-19 economic recovery.

In peace and solidarity,

Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon
